Collection comprised of documents generated by the Office of the Director during the tenure of George W. Eggers. While at the Art Institute, Eggers created the Extension Program, inaugurated international water color exhibitions, and planned for the first permanent installation of the museum's collection. Documents in the collection cover museum acquisitions, lecture programs, and exhibition arrangements. Correspondents include donors, dealers, scholars, and staff from other art institutions.
